![]() ![]() Is sage green a popular paint color this year? To me, slate blue is basically the sage of blues so they complement each other well. If you do want to pair sage with another color, I love slate blue. I especially love this color combo paired with darker wood tones. The color combo feels soothing and inviting. I prefer it with ivory tones, because off whites (as opposed to stark whites) create less contrast with sage, and add to the soothing vibe the color puts out. Sage green pairs beautifully with creamy white tones. Personally, though, I love it with a few particular color combinations, and I think it works best as the colorful element in a neutral color palette. I did some research online, and also looked through the brand websites (or in the case of Behr, the paint swatches at Home Depot) and picked out my favorite sage greens from each.Īll of them were lovely, and in the process of testing them, I whittled down a list of my favorites. And after mixing five sage green paint samples for me, the guy behind the paint counter at Home Depot told me, “good luck choosing a color, they all look pretty similar.” Thanks.Īll-in-all, I think I tested about 12 sage paint colors from Farrow & Ball, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, and Behr. I ordered tiny sample pots from Farrow & Ball. I ordered peel-and-stick paint samples from Samplize. I had a muted, almost taupe-green shade in mind.
